New to Canada Immigrants

Moving to Canada can mean you’re opening your world to exciting new opportunities and challenges, but it can also be daunting if you don’t know how to get around.

That’s why Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has provided a free online interactive map to help you find immigrant services in your area.

Find Free Local Services

Immigrants moving to Canada can take advantage of a number of free services once they get there, including:

How It Works

You can find the interactive map provided by IRCC right here. When you reach the page, you will see an option to select your chosen province or territory from the drop-down menu.

Just as an example, let’s take a look at the interactive map information page for Alberta.

You can easily use this map to zoom in on various locations, but if you’re looking for specific services, you can un-tick the ‘Show All’ box on the map legend and only select what you need. For instance, by ticking the box to only search for ‘Language Assessments’, you’ll see there are seven possible locations you can visit for this type of service.

Getting Specific

Let’s take a closer look at the map legend itself, and the types of services you can find. What’s great about this map is that it’s very specific, and should help you get exactly the help you need:

So, as you can see, it’s never been easier to find exactly the right service you’re looking for.

Starting Your Life in Canada

Here at VisaPlace we have provided some resources to help you settle in Canada as a newcomer. For further information, there are many other resources provided by the IRCC.

The IRCC wants to make sure you get the best start when first moving to Canada. That’s why it also provided plenty of online resources to help you start your new life in Canada. You’ll find useful information on the website for everything from finding a place to live, to healthcare and planning your finances.

The website states: “Moving to Canada is an exciting opportunity but also a great challenge. You need to know what documents to bring, what to expect in the first few days and weeks, how to find a place to live, and much more. Find out how to get the help you need to settle in Canada and learn all about living in Canada.”

And to help you do just that, they’ve even put together this helpful guide, entitled ‘Welcome to Canada: What you should know’.

Are You Interested in Moving to Canada?

Visa place helped me with my daughter’s sponsorship 3 years ago. Last week I contacted them for some clarification on a different matter. It was about an issue which technically was a problem of CIC’s software glitch and had nothing to do with Visa Place.
Yet Reena Sandu was assigned for my case. she helped me with enthusiasm and showed no hesitation despite me being an ex-client from 3 years ago.
I was very happy that even after 3 years of finishing business, Visa Place were respectful of their clients. Special thanks again to Reena for her enthusiasm and support.

Anis did a great job of listening to my situation and getting an attorney to talk to me right away, so I can cross the boarder without worrying about what they might ask me. He was kind and understanding and I look forward to working with him and his company in the future.
