These Provincial Nominee Programs are offered by most of the provinces and territories across Canada, and they can be an ideal way for you to make your transition to permanent residency in Canada.
The Provincial Nominee Programs and Canada Immigration
While there are many overlapping factors and requirements, all of the Provincial Nominee Programs are unique. In most cases you will need a strong tie to that province or territory, whether that is family in the province, work experience in the province or having visited the province.
Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada
Each Provincial Nominee Program has several different categories, or streams of their own. These categories can be similar across the different provinces and territories, but they are not identical.
For example, the province of Newfoundland and Labrador offers an Occupational/Skilled Worker Stream, a Family Connections Stream, an International Graduate Stream and an Immigrant Entrepreneur stream, where applicants can establish or purchase a business in Newfoundland or Labrador to qualify for permanent residency.
New Brunswick has similar streams, with an Employer Support Stream (for those who have a full-time job offer in the province), a Family Support stream and a Business Applicants stream, for applicants who can submit a business plan and have experience as an owner or senior manager of a business.
