Do you require a visitor visa to come to Canada? Some foreign nationals do require one. It all depends on your country of citizenship. If you are a citizen of a visa-exempt country, such as the United States, you do not need a visitor visa to come to Canada. If, however, you are a citizen of a country that is not on the visa-exempt list, you will require one. What is involved in a visitor visa application?
Foreign nationals who wish to obtain a visitor visa must make an application to do so. When they do apply, they will have to meet several different requirements.
Most importantly, applicants for visitor visas need to demonstrate that they have the funds to support themselves during their stay and that they will return home after their trip is over. This is so that the Canadian government knows you won’t be overstaying your visa in Canada and that you won’t be a burden on Canadian social services.
In addition, you may be required to have a letter of invitation from someone in Canada.
Last but not least, applicants will have to be in good health and have a valid passport, while they may also have to undergo a medical exam in certain situations.
