If you are returning or coming into Canada for whatever reason you will receive a Canada Border Services Agency Declaration Card to complete before you land. If you are in need of such a document it would recommended that you seek immigration assistance before attempting to travel.
Be Honest of What You Declare at the Border
If you are not honest while declaring at CBSA you face having all goods seized. You may lose the goods permanently or have to pay a fee in order to get them back, this depends on what type of goods you have and the circumstances involved.
Foods, Plants, Animals and Related Items
Every traveller coming into Canada plays a key role in protecting our agriculture. Many travellers are unaware that there is a threat posed when you do not declare what you’re bringing into the country. The risks are very real and are able to threaten our environment and natural resources.
Public Health
If you are suffering a communicable disease please be sure to let CBSA know. With all the different strains popping up around the globe it’s wise to advise the border officials if you have contracted anything while outside Canada.
Remember…Declare, Declare, Declare and be honest! If you are travelling into the country using a vehicle the declaration is usually made by simply speaking to a Border Official at the time of entry.
