Hi this is Michael Niren, immigration lawyer and founder of VisaPlace.com. Immigration Minister Chris Alexander has announced that Ebola is a concern, and that certain countries where widespread Ebola exists, the individuals who apply for visas from those countries will not be permitted to have those visas processed until I suppose the Ebola epidemic is under control in those countries.
Countries Affected
The countries in question are Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, so individuals from those countries will not be able to have their visa applications processed nor their permanent resident applications processed. So we will keep you posted on this, and see whether or not those suspensions will be lifted. I assume if and when the Ebola epidemic over there in Africa will be put under control or there be other measures to protect Canadians from individuals coming from those countries who may be suspected of having Ebola.
