Get All Your Immigration Questions Answered
Prepare a list of questions for your immigration consultant or immigration lawyer before your first meeting. This way, you won’t forget to ask about anything and will leave the meeting knowing all of the important information such as fees, conditions, the likelihood of your application being approved and what your next steps are.
Get Your Supporting Documents
Understand which supporting documents you’ll need for your immigration application. These may include passports, birth certificates, proof of education, resumes, drivers licenses, tax information, marriage certificates or employment and medical histories. Ensure that your supporting documents are properly translated into either English or French beforehand to prevent any delays, as documents in other languages will not be accepted.
Be “Nice” To Immigration Officials
Always be respectful and kind to immigration authorities. Any problems you encounter may not necessarily be their fault, but instead could be blamed on issues with the information you provide to them. If you do run into a delay or other unforeseen complication, discuss ways to solve it with your immigration lawyer.

Canada is a huge country, but our highest populations are mostly found along the southernmost regions. Canada also has many large cities, including Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. Larger metropolitan regions, especially Toronto, tend to have diverse selections of neighbourhoods with populations of different cultures. You are more likely to find a large population of people from your home country with familiar experiences and a similar culture if you choose a large city like Toronto.

You can use this time to your advantage by spending it learning about the immigration process, researching where you may want to live and looking into the job market in that area. Climate, housing, taxes and healthcare are other things that potential immigrants to Canada may want to learn about.
