Are you waiting for the 2020 Presidential Election results to make the move to Canada? The election is right around the corner and there is a possibility the results aren’t exactly how you wanted. If so, Canada is always looking for those looking to start a new life there and contribute to the country.

There was a huge increase in interest from the US to Canada during the presidential election in 2016 when Donald Trump was elected. This increase stayed consistent throughout the election results to his inauguration. There is a possibility this happens again this year so here are your options to look into when moving to Canada!

International Mobility Program (NAFTA)

The International Mobility Program which is part of the CUSMA formerly known as NAFTA allows workers from the US to work in Canada without a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This work permit only applies to certain occupations and is issued by the Canadian government under the International Mobility Program. These applications can be done at the Port of Entry, at a visa office, or online.

Express Entry

Express Entry is an online point-based system that adds applicants to an Express Entry pool. Your CRS Score is what ranks you within these systems which are based on a number of factors. This is a very popular path for those looking to work in Canada. These factors include:

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

PNP Canada programs allow Canadian provinces to nominate applicants for immigration to their province based on criteria set by the provincial government. Successful applicants obtain a provincial nomination, which may then be used to apply for permanent residence.

Family Sponsorship

If you have any family already living in Canada, family sponsorship may be an easier option for you. This is only available to those with family members that are either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident that is 18 years or older.

Spousal Sponsorship

If your spouse, common-law, or conjugal partner is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a registered Indian under the Canadian Indian Act, applying for spousal sponsorship is the route for you. Even if you have a partner and marriage is in your future, this could be part of your plan!

Visa place helped me with my daughter’s sponsorship 3 years ago. Last week I contacted them for some clarification on a different matter. It was about an issue which technically was a problem of CIC’s software glitch and had nothing to do with Visa Place.
Yet Reena Sandu was assigned for my case. she helped me with enthusiasm and showed no hesitation despite me being an ex-client from 3 years ago.
I was very happy that even after 3 years of finishing business, Visa Place were respectful of their clients. Special thanks again to Reena for her enthusiasm and support.
