Hi, my name is Michael Niren. I’m an immigration lawyer and founder of
VisaPlace.com. This is just an update for engineers who wish to immigrate
to Canada. I have some good news.
Understanding the Bridge Training Program for Engineers
If you’re destined for Ontario, of course, there are other provinces that
are also attractive for engineers, but specifically for Ontario, there’s a
new program called the Bridge Training Program that will enable engineers
to get licensed in Canada or in Ontario easier than in the past.
There’s always been two challenges when you immigrate to Canada. You first
have to qualify for immigration which is tough and you go through the
immigration process. We do a lot of engineers and other professionals and
often it’s a lengthy process, a lot of paperwork, but once you get here and
you come to Canada, what’s next?
The Benefits of the Bridge Training Program
Most people want to work in their profession. They went to school. They
have experience and they want to work hard in their own profession, but
often it’s very hard to get your license in Canada to do so.
So now, Ontario is working with the Canadian government to assist, to help
professionals like engineers, doctors and nurses and IT professionals to
get licensed easier. So, this is a great development, and we’re looking
forward to seeing it play out in Ontario.
