On July 16, 2014 Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander welcomed the first two successful applicants under the new Start-up Visa Program. The two entrepreneurs formerly of Ukraine developed an application through their company Zeetl Inc. which allows firms to monitor social media for customer complaints.
The program targets innovative entrepreneurs who can potentially develop pioneering start-ups in Canada which will promote both economic growth and job creation. Through this new visa program Canada will be better able to compete on a global scale while attracting top talent from around the world.
The Start-up Visa Program is the first of its kind. It will link experienced Canadian business professionals and foreign entrepreneurs giving an edge to the Canadian economy while providing job opportunities for Canadians.
