Update: IRCC held their first-ever Transport Occupations Express Entry Draw on September 20, 2023.
On September 19, 2023, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of IRCC, announced that the initial set of invitations for occupations in the transportation sector using a category-based selection in the Express Entry system will take place this week. This targeted strategy focuses on individuals with a background in the transportation sector, including occupations like commercial truck drivers, pilots, and workers in the assembly of aircraft. The objective is to increase the industry’s capacity to draw top talent from around the country.
The Express Entry system in Canada has been designed to provide a quick and easy route for people with expertise in significant fields. Canada is attempting to meet the rising demand for talent and fill critical roles that are essential to the growth and advancement of the country’s economy by prioritizing the invitation of talented newcomers with experience in the transportation industry.
Canada reaffirms its dedication to luring top international talent and addressing the need for transportation workers to support the nation’s economy through category-based selection. Along with the usual invitation rounds that take into account numerous programs and criteria, these category-based selection rounds will continue throughout the year.
