Hi, this is Michael Niren, immigration lawyer and founder of visaplace.com. Today I want to talk to you about a problem that a lot of people have when it comes to trying to evaluate their qualification for a visa or for immigration. Now there’s a lot of information out there, especially online, and I think that’s great. It’s great that people can get information about immigration and visas and even can attempt to evaluate whether or not they qualify. But there’s a double-edged sword here. It’s great that there’s so much information, but there’s a lot of misinformation out there. A lot of times we face situations or people contact us and say, “I’m really upset. I don’t qualify for this visa. I did an online assessment form and it told me that I don’t qualify or I read an article that in my situation, it seems that there’s no way I can get a visa.” People get very discouraged and upset about it and often make prejudgments of their own situation. So, it’s really important to know that while the Internet is a great resource, it doesn’t tell the whole picture.
An Immigration Lawyer Can Help YouÂ
Really, the only way to get a full understanding of your situation is to speak with an immigration professional. You have to have a consultation, an old-fashioned consultation, that could be in person or it could be on the phone or even through Skype. But you have to have that one-on-one conversation to really get a sense of where you stand. There’s a lot of pointed questions that will be asked so you should prepare for your consultation in order for you to really know where you stand. This is really important because you may be surprised, you may be pleasantly surprised to find out that, you know what, despite what you read online, you, in fact, could qualify for a visa, or maybe not right away or in some cases you have to take a certain amount of steps to get there. But I’ve seen so many cases where people have come to us with their head down, basically saying, “Look, I don’t even know why I’m speaking with you because I’m not going to qualify.”
An Immigration Lawyer Can Increase Your Chances of Getting a Visa
When in fact, guess what? There’s some good news. Now, that’s not always the case. Sometimes it’s true that at this particular point in time that an individual doesn’t qualify for a visa. But again, there’s always things you could do to improve your chances of getting approved in getting a visa. So just keep in mind that while the Internet is a great resource, and I’m all for it, if you’re serious and you really want to move or to get a visa or immigrate, there is no substitute for a consultation with an expert who knows what they’re doing, who can listen to your problem, and give you real advice about your situation, not general advice that is out there. Hopefully this helped. If you like this video, share it, click Like, and visit us at www.visaplace.com.
