The Federal Skilled Worker Program is a Canadian immigration stream that offers permanent residency to individuals who are able to immigrate to Canada based on their own credentials, including age, language proficiency, education level and their work experience. To qualify for this immigration stream, the work experience must be in a certain occupation.
The Federal Skilled Worker Program was closed down because of a significant backlog, but it will be re-opened on May 4th to accept applications for 24 occupations. While there is a cap of 5,000 applications, there is no cap if the applicant has a qualifying job offer.
