Spousal Sponsorship Application question
I would like to marry my Vietnamese fiancee in Vietnam. I will travel there from Canada. However, I would like to live in Vietnam with her while I am waiting for my Canadian sponsorship to be processed.
Could you tell me how I can prove my intention to return to Canada once her permanent residency status is approved? Are you able to help me prove my intention as well as help with the entire process?
Thank you
Samuel

Spousal Sponsorship Application Information
Hi Samuel,
So long as you are a Canadian citizen and not just a Canadian permanent resident, you can sponsor your spouse from abroad and remain with her overseas while awaiting, your application to be processed. Please note that there are no longer fiance sponsorships in Canada so you either have to marry her, be in a common law relationship for at least one year or apply as conjugal sponsors.
Showing your intention to return to Canada can be more tricky. With the application, you should include documents showing your “ties” to Canada including bank statements, employment information, family etc. The Canadian immigration authorities have to be satisfied that you and your wife will return to Canada upon approval of the application. It is all in the documents!
