The pilot program primarily aims to evaluate how the policy change impacts the availability of visa appointments globally. By diminishing the need for in-person renewals at overseas consulates, it is anticipated that this change will alleviate backlogs and release appointment slots for individuals applying for U.S. work visas from outside the United States.
