Like other travel restrictions the United States has put in place to slow the spread of Coronavirus, Donald Trump announced an immediate travel ban from Brazil to the United States starting May 26th, 2020. Entry in the United States has been suspended to individuals who have traveled to Brazil within 14 days as the country has the second most cases worldwide.
All individuals in Brazil were advised to leave immediately to avoid any traveling complications. Many flights and airlines have already been affected by this ban and you may have to create a Plan B in case your flight is canceled or delayed. It’s important to know that permanent US residents, their spouses, legal guardians of permanent residents under 21 years old, and other groups have been exempt from the travel ban.
This travel ban has been put in place solely to protect American citizens from COVID-19. With cases rapidly growing in the southern hemisphere, one can expect more travel restrictions coming soon.
