Canada Intends to Increase Their Annual Immigration Admissions to 350,000 by 2021

Canada has announced that they want to increase their annual immigration admissions to 350,000 by 2021. The new immigrants/newcomers will be used to fill shortages and gaps in the labour market in Canada. The country will take 40,000 more immigrants in 2021 than planned this year according to Minister Ahmed Hussen.

Canada Needs More Immigrant Workers

Most of these new immigrants/newcomers are going to be accepted to come to Canada under economic programs designed to address skilled shortages and gaps in the labour market. “In certain regions the hunger for workers is huge,” Hussen said. “This plan is making us very competitive in the global market. It enables us to continue to be competitive, it enables us to continue to be (a leader) in skills attraction.”

The Canadian government has stated that they are taking extreme measures to ensure that these newcomers have ‘access to suitable settlement services.’ Hussen explained that the government will need to fund for their housing, settlement services, and provide integration services.

Canada’s Plan for Refugees in 2019

Canada does have a plan on gradually increasing the number of refugees that they will accept under its humanitarian, family reunification and sponsorship programs. They intend to increase the number from 43,000 a year to 51,700 by 2021. “Hussen says he acknowledges that more must be done to help refugees around the world, and says he fights every single day to increase the number of refugees Canada admits.

He also noted that Canada has “exported” its program allowing private citizens to sponsor refugees to several other countries that previously did not offer a program like that. The United Kingdom has implemented its own version of Canada’s program, with Ireland and Germany set to soon do the same.” – CBC news.

Visa place helped me with my daughter’s sponsorship 3 years ago. Last week I contacted them for some clarification on a different matter. It was about an issue which technically was a problem of CIC’s software glitch and had nothing to do with Visa Place.
Yet Reena Sandu was assigned for my case. she helped me with enthusiasm and showed no hesitation despite me being an ex-client from 3 years ago.
I was very happy that even after 3 years of finishing business, Visa Place were respectful of their clients. Special thanks again to Reena for her enthusiasm and support.
