Liberals Win the Canadian Federal Election

Liberals Win Federal Election

On Monday, September 20th the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau won Canada’s federal election. Throughout the campaign, the Liberals and Conservatives exchanged places in national polling in a battle that was extremely close. They are the only two political parties to have ever governed Canada since its founding in 1867. Throughout the campaign, concerns such as climate change, affordable housing, and economic recovery took precedence over immigration. Both the Liberals and the Conservatives, on the other hand, vowed to expand immigration, solve the application backlog, and enhance credential recognition. You can learn more about all the Canadian political party’s stances on immigration.

Canada Immigration Predictions After Federal Election

Over the next several years, the election results should result in few substantial policy changes and shocks in Canadian immigration. Another Liberal immigration plan should have little direct influence on immigration policy. Since 2019, the Liberals have been able to push through their immigration program with little resistance or debate. Opposition parties have instead concentrated on holding the government accountable on other matters such as the pandemic response, economic and budgetary policies, and foreign affairs concerns such as Canada’s reaction to the Afghan situation. As a result, we should anticipate the Liberals’ immigration program, which has been in place since 2015, to continue. This includes continuing to welcome high levels of immigration to aid Canada’s post-pandemic economic recovery, as well as reuniting families, assisting refugees, and embracing other immigrants such as temporary foreign workers and international students.

The immigration program of the Liberal Party includes a number of pledges that are significant to immigrants and future residents. For example, they reaffirm their commitment to abolish citizenship costs throughout the 2019 election campaign.

They have also stated that they will encourage Francophone immigration in Quebec and beyond. They do not, however, go into great detail about their “ambitious national agenda.”

They claim to be able to cut COVID-19-related processing times to under 12 months, however, their platform does not specify how. They plan to offer electronic applications to improve family reunification applications.

US and Canada Immigration Predictions

The election in Canada on Monday marked the end of a campaign that paid scant attention to foreign affairs or the country’s crucial relationship with the US. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, gave Trudeau two late-campaign endorsements.

When the topic of US-Canada relationships came up a few times throughout the 36-day campaign, Trudeau was compelled to justify how effectively he had fostered his relationship with Biden. Since the election in the United States, the leaders have only met once, during the G-7 meeting in June. They have yet to have a formal, face-to-face meeting.

“I spoke often with Joe Biden about our borders to coordinate as much as possible,” Trudeau said during the Radio-Canada debate. “But it’s not up to the United States to tell us how we should manage our borders and our population. Nor is it up to us to tell Americans how to manage them.”

Visa place helped me with my daughter’s sponsorship 3 years ago. Last week I contacted them for some clarification on a different matter. It was about an issue which technically was a problem of CIC’s software glitch and had nothing to do with Visa Place.
Yet Reena Sandu was assigned for my case. she helped me with enthusiasm and showed no hesitation despite me being an ex-client from 3 years ago.
I was very happy that even after 3 years of finishing business, Visa Place were respectful of their clients. Special thanks again to Reena for her enthusiasm and support.
