E-2 Visa Filing changes in Vancouver
The US Consulate in Vancouver has begun a new E-2 visa application process.
All the supporting documentation for an E-2 application is no longer needed to be sent ahead of the interview for adjudication. Officers are now looking at the supporting documentation or the “meat of the application” for the first time when the applicant attends his his/her interview. According to the Consulate’s website:
“It is the responsibility of the applicant or his/her attorney to present fully-prepared E visa applications at the time of the interview. Documentation must be organized in such a way that the consular officer can locate all of the relevant facts to make adjudication within 5-10 minutes. Applicants who fail to submit the necessary information will face delays in the processing and adjudication of their cases.”
With the timeline that the Consulate has provided, applications have to be streamlined as much as possible, yet contain all the relevant information to render a positive outcome. This is why it is more important than ever to go into the interview as prepared as possible.
We assist in E-2 applications, but we try and go above and beyond. Clients typically want to know what to expect in these interviews. We assist as much as possible to allow the client to walk into the Consulate with confidence. Doing it right the first time around provides usually the best chance of success.
