Update: CEC and FSW draws will return July 2022.
It has been a tough year for those applying for Express Entry since CEC draws have come to a complete halt. Many applicants are wondering when CEC draws will return! Canada employers are hurting with the lack of Express Entry invites as the labour shortage continues. Canada’s immigration minister, Sean Fraser, announced that Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applications will be accepted soon. This is great news for those applying to Express Entry through the Canadian Experience Class stream.
On a video conference call with Canadian Club Toronto, Fraser stated, “We don’t have an announcement on the specific date of the next draw but I can reassure you we’re looking at resuming draws in the near term on the Canadian Experience Class for federal skilled workers.”
Record Number of Expected Express Entry Invites
Canada announced their expected numbers of how many Express Entry applications they will accept in 2022, 2023, and 2024
Year | Number of Invites |
2022 | 55,900 |
2023 | 75,750 |
2024 | 111,500 |
With these numbers so high, we can expect CEC draws to start back up, fairly soon.
